must-watch fall tv shows

Happy first day of fall! I thought it would be fitting to do a fall-inspired post today. This season is the best time for TV. All the best shows come back on in the fall, and my DVR gets full all over again. I am a bit sad to see some of my favorite summer shows come to an end (i.e. Big Brother), but fall TV has my heart. In just a few weeks,  ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween is coming back on. I wait for it every year. Since it’s unfortunately not on yet, here’s a list of 6 must-watch fall TV shows to keep you busy until then.

Scream Queens

1. Scream Queens

Did anyone watch Scream Queens last night?! OMG, I am obsessed. I was writing this blog post as I was watching the episode, and I seriously couldn’t look away from my TV. Hence why I’m writing the majority of this post right now (Wednesday morning). I love everything Ryan Murphy does (except for the last season of American Horror Story), so I knew this show would be a hit. I won’t give any spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.  Comment below with who you think is the killer.

Scandal

2. Scandal

I cannot wait until this Thursday when Scandal returns to TV. The last season ended with Olivia and Fitz making out on the Truman balcony. I love me some Olivia and Fitz. This season, I’m excited to see Mellie and Fitz go at it. Peace out Mellie! She annoys the crap out of me sometimes. Scandal is one of those shows that you really should watch from the beginning. So if you’ve never seen an episode, I highly recommend you wait to watch the new season until you’re caught up. Trust me. It’s worth it.

Empire

3. Empire

The show I’m most excited about returning this fall is Empire. I didn’t want to like Empire, and I even told Bryan from the beginning that I would probably watch one episode and be done with it. Oh boy was I wrong! Empire was my favorite new show last year, and I’ve been counting the days until it comes back on. There’s just so many things to love about Empire: the music is crazy good, Taraji P. Henson is phenomenal as Cookie, and Jussie Smollett is not only super talented but also nice to look at.

How to get away with murder

4. How to Get Away With Murder

I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch How to Get Away with Murder from the beginning. Bryan was a huge fan of the show and watched it every week. I would sit on my laptop while it was playing in the background. After a few episodes, I became intrigued and started paying closer attention. That’s when I was hooked. Last season ended in a major cliffhanger, so I’m really excited for the season premier. I love this show because it reminds me of one of my all-time favorite series, The Killing. (Even the actress from The Killing is in How to Get Away with Murder!)

gotham2

5. Gotham

I’m up in the air about Gotham. I loved it at first, but towards the end of last season, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I watched the season premier this week and fell in love with it all over again. Anyone else super excited to see the Joker featured more this season? I think it’s going to be much darker than last, and I can’t wait to go along for the ride. Favorite characters? I like watching Gordon and Penguin.

Goldbergs

6. The Goldbergs

I’ve never seen The Goldbergs, but every time I watch a promo I laugh. I’ve heard from numerous people that it’s a must-watch show. It’s set in the 1980s in Jenkinton, PA, which is near where I live! I can’t wait to dive in. If you’ve seen it, do you think I should go back and watch the earlier episodes first?

Oh my goodness, I LOVE Scandal. So much. Olivia Pope rocks my socks. And How to Get Away With Murder is another fave. Thank goodness for Shonda Rhimes, right? I saw Twitter exploding with tweets about Scream Queens when it premiered, but I actually don’t know anything about it. I wasn’t a huge Glee fan, so I’m not gaga over Ryan Murphy. But maybe I’ll give it a shot?

You’ve got to watch Scream Queens!

Now that Big Brother is over, I’m glad I don’t have to wait too long for another show to begin – How To Get Away With Murder is one of my absolute favorites! The trailer for Season 2 is so good, I can’t wait to find out what happened. I missed Scream Queens but it’s definitely on my list to go back and watch. I still have to finish Season 3 and start Season 4 of American Horror Story so I foresee some TV-filled evenings in my future 🙂

LOVE big brother. although I wasn’t loving most of the contestant this season 🙁

I’m in total agreement with you on that!

LOVE all of these shows!! Scandal is my favorite though!! 💗

Scandal is so good! I didn’t get a chance to watch it last night, so I’m looking forward to catching up tonight !!
