Adding Art to the Living Room

Thank you to Minted for the art in this post.
As always, all opinions are my own. For more information see my disclosures here.

When Bryan and I moved into our apartment a few years ago, the only art we hung was a gallery wall that we transferred from our previous apartment. Unfortunately, the gallery wall wasn’t large enough to fill the wall in our new place, but we kept it up anyway.

(eek, apologies for this horrific iPhone photo)

I searched for large scale art on the Minted Art Marketplace to replace the gallery wall. Minted’s Art Marketplace is where independent artists can sell and share their work. As I was browsing on the site, I came across a print from Pad and Paper called Restoration. I love more modern art, so it was exactly what I was looking for.  adding art to the living room

I loved that it was abstract, in neutral colors, but also had a pop of my favorite color turquoise. I ordered the print in 40″ x 54″ with a white frame. I do want to note: if the art is pictured on Minted vertically, that is how it will be framed. I knew this before ordering, so I asked my father-in-law to help us attach wire and hooks to make the photo hang horizontally.

I’m really impressed with the quality of the print. When you order art online it can be scary, because you really don’t know what you’re getting. I was so relieved when we received our print. The frame was done really well and the print was on acid and lignin-free paper. I’m so excited to now have a statement piece in our living room.

Every time I walk into my living room, I smile. The art makes such a difference in the overall feel of our space. We’ve come a long way. Over the past few months we got new couches, pillows, tray and art. Everything is coming together so nicely. I’m still looking for a new throw and more wintery pillow covers. Maybe something velvet and with fur. I’m also looking for new decor items and probably new coffee and end tables. I love how our apartment is now reflecting our style much more.

I love it! We don’t have a single piece of artwork on our walls. When we moved, I didn’t really like much of what we had anymore and finding artwork both of us like it tough!

i completely understand. it took us a while to agree on this one!

This piece is gorgeous! I also have very similar pillows to yours!

I create my own art (I’m a bit of a painter in my spare time)…but I’ve always wanted to try out other works. If only my place had more walls!

xo

Thanks, Sara. That’s so cool that you create your own art. I wish I was that crafty!!

The art is gorgeous. I’m on the hunt for some art for our bare dining room. I find it so intimidating to buy art – not sure why? I love your round coffee table too.

thanks, gena. I highly recommend Minted for art. Such great quality!
