adorable etsy shops for baby

I’m not sure I mentioned this on the blog before, but I found out that I was pregnant really early on at 3 weeks 6 days. After a year of negative pregnancy tests, I decided to take a test on a whim one morning. I was absolutely shocked when it came back positive. Ever since, this journey has felt like a whirlwind. I immediately began researching everything I could about pregnancy and tried to get myself as prepared as possible for the months ahead.

Of course, part of my baby prep involved finding the cutest items for our little one. We bought lots of things from popular stores like Carters and Babies R Us, but I also scoured Etsy for more unique pieces. I had no idea that Etsy had so many great shops for baby decor, clothing, accessories and more! Now, I’m obsessed.

Etsy, like any e-commerce site, can be overwhelming… but I’m here to help. I’ve found some of the absolute best Etsy shops for baby, and I’m sharing them with you today. I’ll tell you all about each shop, the items I personally have and love, and some other items that I’ve got my eye on.

Jeni Layne Designs

In my opinion, baby girls need adorable bloomers {aka diaper covers} when wearing dresses. When I found these monogrammed bloomers from Jeni Layne Designs, I knew I had to order a few pairs for our little lady. The eyelet lace trim on the legs is so girly, and I love that! Keep in mind… of course I know that for the first month or two our baby will live in onesies and fleece pants, but I plan to put her in dresses once the weather warms up. Dressing a girl is going to be so much fun. I’m a huge fan of monograms, but if that’s not your thing, I’ve linked some other great pieces from the Jeni Layne Designs shop below.

Turtle Bug Soup

Bryan and I plan on taking a lot of photos while in the hospital, so I’m packing a few different outfits for baby. The hospital will provide a basic blue and pink cap for her, but I wanted something different. Why? Because I’m a first time mom and I can do whatever I want. Ha! I ordered this hospital hat with a bow, and can’t wait to put it on her. Turtle Bug Soup has so many different options in their shop. You can customize the hat’s color and pattern, and even add baby’s name.

Birchmark Designs

It seems like every mom takes monthly photos of their baby. I’m sure you’ve seen them. I want to join in on the fun, but I’m not a big fan of the stickers or the play mat backdrops. Instead, I’m envisioning baby girl propped up on our rocking chair with wooden blocks. I looked for some at Target and Babies R Us, but none really matched the rest of our nursery decor and they all seemed kind of cheap. My friend Danica recommended Birchmark Designs on Etsy, so I ordered these large wooden age blocks in the cream/gray color. I love that these blocks are solid wood, are a bit larger than the ones I’ve seen in stores, and are slightly distressed.

SK Creations

Finding a coming home outfit for baby was a big ordeal. Bryan and I wanted something that wasn’t too trendy or too over the top. We’re obviously going to take photos of her in her coming home outfit, and I didn’t want to look back on the photos years from now and say, “What were we thinking?!” I started researching options on Etsy and found this shop called SK Creations with 5 stars and over 5,500 reviews! I knew it was fate because it only took me like 10 minutes to find the most adorable monogrammed striped coming home footie. I ordered the pink and white striped footie with a white vine monogram. When it got delivered to me, I was so extremely pleased. The shop personalizes clothing from Magnolia Baby, which is a really high quality children’s clothing brand. Their products are made from 100% pima cotton and might be the softest thing I’ve ever felt!

Modern Moonage Studio

When I was looking for nursery inspo on Pinterest, I kept coming back to an image from RH Baby and Child. The photo showed a neutral nursery with a large feathery circular thing above the crib. After some googling, I learned that it was called an African juju hat. RH Baby and Child wanted a FORTUNE for it, so I definitely didn’t place an order. Etsy came to the rescue though. There’s a shop called Modern Moonage Studio that sells much more affordable African juju hats in a bunch of different feather colors. Check out some of the options below!

Woobies and Wonder

If you’re looking for unique decor for your baby’s nursery, I highly recommend checking out the embroidered “baby sleeping” pillow signs from Woobies and Wonder. I ordered one in pink thread for our little one’s room and it’s the sweetest piece. It’s hanging on the door to her nursery and every time I walk past it, I smile. The shop also sells quilts and stuffed elephants in a variety of patterns and colors. I’ve linked some below.

PersonalizeLife3

One of the first items I got for baby was this monogramed nursery pillow. Since we had baby’s name picked out even before we knew she was a girl, it made it easy to get a few pieces monogrammed early on. There was no turning back. I’m glad we ordered the pillow because it looks so pretty on our recliner. I promise to do a nursery reveal after baby is born and give you all the details about the items in the room.
