Bringing out Mr. Foam Roller

I decided that instead of going for a run after work yesterday, fueling up with healthy food was more important.  Bry and I headed over to the supermarket after I was done work to get some much needed items:  kiwi, apples, greek yogurt, and cottage cheese doubles.  There were other items thrown in our cart as well, but those items are always my favorite.   I wrote on Twitter my plan for the night:

And that is exactly what I did!

First up was a quick and easy dinner: vegan “chicken” tenders,home-made sweet potato fries, and steamed broccoli.

 

Next up was a shower and some foam rolling to help my burning calves.  Yes, I wore my Ugg slippers.  I have no shame.

During my session with Mr. Foam Roller and some light stretching, I watched Deandre get booted off American Idol.  Anyone else think this should have happened weeks ago?!  I feel terrible saying this, but his voice sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

Personally, I am rooting for Hollie and Phillip.  Hollie because she seems so down to earth and has an amazing voice well beyond her years.  Phillip because I have a huge crush on him and when he sings my heart melts.  Normal.

Just found your blog from Fitting It All In and I’m hooked!! Like you, I have a major crush on Phillip (although he’s technically the same age as my little brother…)

I like that you seem real and very approachable in your attitude towards healthy eating and exercise. It was refreshing to hear you say you were excited about running a mile straight without stopping because it’s easy for that to not seem like a big deal in the blog world where people go on an “easy 5 mile run” like it’s no thang! Yea, I’m trying to keep pushing. But I am no expert at running. I just started to run last fall and I fell in love with it!

I am rooting for Philip too and Jessica and Colton….I use foam roller for strengthening my back…I have the white version and its very helpful in terms of stretching my back area and legs too.
