friday favs

It’s FRIDAY! Woohoo. I need a drink badly, but it’s only 7am here and I have a day of work to get through, so that’s not really feasible, right? Oy. But yes, it’s been one of those weeks. Super busy {which I love}, but not enough sleep. I’m running on caffeine and Smart Water, and plan to face plant into my bed the second I get home later. Sound good? Ha! But in the meantime, let’s get right into my Friday Favorites.

1. Interview with Carla Marie

Do you know Carla Marie? Do you listen to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show? Well, if you don’t know Carla, she used to be a producer on Elvis’ radio show, and most recently she moved across the country to start her own radio show with her co-worker Anthony. I worked with her a few times in the past when I did public relations full-time. I stayed in contact with her over the years, and this past week she agreed to be interviewed for Simply Nicole! Get ready to hear all about her move to Seattle, her favorite workout routines, an easy crockpot recipe, her secret to eating healthy, and of course…what she misses most about the Elvis Duran show and NYC. The video will be up soon here on the blog!

3. Raw Oysters & Cocktails

There’s nothing I love more than raw oysters and a cocktail. It’s basically a weekend essential. Last weekend, Bryan and I had dinner with his grandmom at a seafood restaurant that we love. It’s one of the few places nearby with a raw bar, so we always order oysters as our appetizer. Side note: I can’t believe that up until a year ago, I had never had raw oysters. I don’t know what was holding me back, but I’m so glad that I gained the courage to try them. They are my jam.

My cocktail of choice? Grey goose and Pellegrino with lots and lots of lemon. Tito’s is another great option for vodka. It’s gluten free!

4. New Biz Cards

This weekend, I’m headed to a blogger conference in Philly! We don’t have as nearly as many events as Dallas, NYC or LA, so when I found out there was one in my city, I registered right away. Then it hit me, I don’t have business cards. Bryan’s been hassling me for years now to finally order a pack, but I was waiting for everything to be in order first. I wanted to get a new logo badly, so once that was completed I knew it was the right time. It took me a few weeks to get the card design exactly how I wanted it, but once it was complete, I received the shipment in just a few days. {Thank you rush shipping!}
