FRIDAY FAVORITE JUNE

TGIF my friennnnnnnnds. The weekend is finally almost here. I had a pretty decent week. Lots of running around though. I’m hoping that this weekend is much more chill. Bryan and I are watching his sister’s dog Moose until Sunday, so I don’t think it will be quiet with two dogs running around.

I AM looking forward to taking Moose and Pete for a long walk since the weather is supposed to be nice. It’s been at least a week since I took a walk. I NEED one desperately. Some people use walks to catch up on podcasts, listen to music, etc. Nope. Not me. I actually hate listening to anything while on a walk. Maybe it’s because I’m super paranoid I’ll get abducted if I have earbuds in and can’t hear my surroundings. HAHA. But really, I use walks to decompress and chill out without technology. I look at a computer screen for more hours of the day than I’d like to admit, so walks force me to unplug for a while. I love it.

five minute journal review

Five Minute Journal

Oh Five Minute Journal, how I love you. I’ve had it for quite some time now, but I always use it in waves. Some months I’m ALL about it, while other months, I completely forget it’s there. I found the journal again recently and have been using it every day. Not familiar with the Five Minute Journal, read this post.

It’s packed with weekly challenges, uplifting quotes, and a few writing prompts for morning and night. It focuses on the practice of gratitude, which had been studied LOADS of times. Researchers found that practicing gratitude leads to higher levels of positive emotion, a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure and more joy and optimism! Count me in. It literally takes Five minutes. Even if you’re super busy, I’m sure you have five minutes to spare.

Probiotic Drinks

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m perfectly OK with eating and drinking the same stuff every single day. What can I say?! I love a routine. But sometimes, I’ll walk around the grocery store looking for something fun and new to buy. A few weeks ago, {actually the day of my acupuncture appointment}, I bought a bottle of Kevita Sparkling Probiotic Drink in lemon ginger. I loved it so much that I bought it again this weekend and had Bryan try it out. He enjoyed it too!

The drink is organic and non-GMO, and packed with probiotics, which is essential for someone like me with a horrific digestive system. It helps your body absorb vital nutrients, aids in digestion and gives you a natural boost of energy! I really enjoy the lemon ginger flavor. It’s a bit sweet, sour, and spicy all in one! Would anyone be interested in a whole post about it? Maybe mixing it to make some fun cocktails?!

drinking more water

Drinking More Water

If you’ve been a SN reader for some time now, you know that I have the worst time drinking water. I’ve done countless posts about “How to Drink More Water,” but somehow can’t take my own advice. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t care for the taste at all. I can literally go all day long and have one glass of water. One. It’s terrible, I know.

Weird thing is, I’m getting better at it! Last weekend, I decided that every time I have a cup of coffee, I’m going to also have a HUGE mason jar full of lemon water. ANDDD while I’m sitting at work, I keep a 16oz. tumbler full of water with me. Yesterday I filled it up 3x! I know this isn’t a lot for most people, but for me it is.
