friday favorites simply nicole

Good morning, everyone! Happy Friday. My weekend will be filled with getting ready for our move. I know this sounds a bit crazy since I have weeks before we move, but trust me. We have a lot of clutter that I MUST get rid of. I’ve been pinning a bunch of organization and home decor posts on my Pinterest boards, so I’m super inspired right now. I seriously could spend hours just pinning away. It’s a time suck for sure.

Aside from Pinterest, here are the other Friday Favorites I have for this week.

lip balm morgan stewart

1. Hands Down the Best Lip Balm

As many of you know from my beauty posts, I’m not a fan of lipstick, and I rarely even bother with gloss. I’m more of a lip balm type of gal. No fuss! So when I saw Morgan Stewart from Rich Kids of Beverly Hills {please tell me you watch that show!} snapped a photo of a tinted lip balm, I had to look into it. I found out that she uses Baume de Rose from By Terry in the color “Coral Stellar.” The company was kind enough to send me Baume de Rose for review and oh man, my life has been changed. It’s literally the best lip balm in the world. It has a gorgeous tint and looks amazing with a tan. I’ll be doing a full post about my favorite lip products, so keep an eye out for that.

the holiday soundtrack

2. The Holiday Soundtrack

I think I might have mentioned this on the blog before, but I’m talking about it again because I’m that obsessed. The movie, The Holiday, is one of my favorites. I watch it every year during Christmas time, but I listen to the soundtrack all year long. The music is to die for!  I usually listen to it while I’m cooking dinner or baking. Something about it puts me in a good mood. Check it out on Spotify. You won’t be disappointed.

netflix chef's table

3. Chef’s Table

One my new favorite shoes is the Netflix documentary series, Chef’s Table. If you’re into food, restaurants, fine dining, different cultures, etc. you will love this series. Each episode highlights a world-renowned chef. You learn about the chefs backgrounds and what made them start a restaurant. You also get a peek into their kitchens and how they create their dishes. I’m only two episodes in, but already I’m hooked! The two chefs I’ve learned about so far are Massimo Bottura who runs Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, and Dan Barber from Blue Hill Restaurant in NYC. SO incredibly interesting. I’m sure that I’ll watch a few more episodes this weekend while organizing our kitchen drawers. Ha!

target bath

4. Target Home Decor

Oh Target. Just take all of my money. ALL OF IT. I’m sure many of you can relate. Every time I’m at Target I wind up spending way more money than I thought I would. I go in for a box of tissues, I come out with makeup, pajamas, green juice, and a new toy for Pete. It’s crazy. Since I’m looking for home decor pieces for our new place, Target has been my go-to spot. I haven’t purchased many things yet, but I have my eye on this bathroom accessory set. I’m thinking about doing blue and white for our guest bath. I can’t commit to color usually, but I’m good with blues.

Chef’s Table is one of my all time favorite documentaries! I didn’t know what to expect when I started watching, but it absolutely blew my mind. Be sure to check out the second season, too!

I need to marathon some of it this weekend. I’m only on Episode three!
