Happy Friday everyone! This Friday Favorites is a bit long, so let’s hop right into it.

Rehoboth Beach Wedding

1. Wedding at the Beach

Last Friday, Bryan and I took the day off work to head down to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for our friends’ wedding. We got there early, so we had time to relax on the beach, eat lunch, walk around the town, and take a quick nap before getting ready.

The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The bride and groom couldn’t have asked for a better day. The ceremony was very casual, which I loved. It was right on the sand and lasted maybe 10 minutes. You could tell that it was exactly what the couple planned. They definitely didn’t want anything long and drawn out.

After the ceremony, we walked over to the hotel for dinner and dancing. The reception was on the top floor, and the room was lined with wall to wall windows with a GORGEOUS view of the ocean. Our table was right next to the window, so we had a perfect backdrop for Instagram photos {haha!}. The entire day was so fun and I can’t wait to go back to Rehoboth Beach soon.

2. Best Creole Seasoning

If you’ve been reading Simply Nicole for a while now, you know how much I love spicy food. I put red pepper flakes on everything I eat. It’s probably not the best for my stomach, but MEH whatever. So, I recently came across a southern recipe for shrimp cajun pasta and it called for creole seasoning, but not any type of creole seasoning. The recipe was very specific. I needed to buy Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning

I bought it at my local grocery store {Giant}, but I know you can also find it at Walmart and on Amazon. It’s a blend of salt, red pepper, black pepper, chili powder and garlic. Sure, you can probably make it yourself if you have those ingredients on hand, but the recipe called for this brand, and I wanted to follow the recipe exactly. I’m actually really glad that I did!

I’m a HUGE fan of this stuff. It’s absolutely delicious and provides the extra heat that I prefer in my meals. You can use it on meats, seafood, veggies, eggs, soups, salads, french fries… literally anything.

3. Moscato with Orange

I’m very specific when it comes to alcohol. Maybe it’s because I made poor decisions in college? Back then, I took shots of Goldschlager. SHOTS. Who in their right mind takes shots of that stuff? It was so terrible, and to this day I can’t have any cinnamon-flavored gum or candy. My roommates and I also drank Bankers club vodka, which we stored under our kitchen sink with cleaning products. Enough said.

So much has changed since then. If I’m drinking a cocktail, it’s almost always Tito’s or Grey Goose with Pellegrino with 4 or 5 lemon wedges. If I’m having wine, it’s always red wine in the winter and white wine in the summer. ALWAYS. So when it was time to order a drink at the wedding last weekend, I spiced it up a bit. I ordered a moscato with an orange wedge. The bartender looked at me like I was crazy, but whatever! Although it’s ridiculously simply, it was delicious. Now, I’ll never drink moscato without an orange ever again. Try it people!

4. New Bedding

Bryan and I had our bedding from Target since we moved into our first apartment five years ago. It held up quite well, but it was time for a new one. I had some requirements for our new comforter. It had to be a neutral color, a normal comforter {not a duvet}, affordable, and it had to obviously fit our king sized bed.

I found one at Target, took a photo of it, showed Bryan, and we both agreed that it would be perfect. It looks great on our bed now, but I didn’t want to show it just yet. I’d like to iron it a bit since it’s wrinkly. Plus, I’m planning on doing a full bedroom revamp post after we move, so keep an eye out for that.

// Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
