Friday Favorites

October 27, 2017

Gah, this week is finally over and thank goodness. I’m excited for a low-key weekend, because this week was a bit hectic. I had a work conference in Atlantic City from Sunday through Tuesday, and it really wore me out. Although it was a lot of fun, by Tuesday night I was absolutely drained and my feet were killing me. I worked from home my bed on Wednesday and recovered a bit which was very much needed. By Thursday, I gained a bit of energy back and was super productive. Don’t you just love days like that? I legit checked almost everything off my to-do list.

But now, it’s Friday and it’s time for my Friday Favorites. I have some great stuff to share with you this week. Keep reading!

1. Quick & Simple Cheese Plate

Our friends John and Christie joined us for dinner at our place last week. I firmly believe that when guests arrive, there should be drinks and snacks out already. I made a super delicious cheese plate that I pulled together in less than 10 minutes. It had three different kinds of cheese {colby jack, pepper jack, sharp yellow cheddar}, crackers, strawberries, grapes, blackberries and gherkins. It was a huge hit! It paired well with the rest of dinner: caesar salad with homemade croutons, spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, and brownies. If you’re ever short on time or just feeling lazy, throw together a cheese plate. You can add whatever fruits, cheeses and meats you have on hand, but try to utilize fruits that are in season, if possible. In the winter, I like adding clementines!

2. Hocus Pocus

This is such a cliche October favorite, but whatever. I’m obsessed with Hocus Pocus. If you have Comcast onDemand, you can watch it for free whenever – which is exactly what I did on Thursday night. This year, I don’t have any costume parties to go to, so I need to get into the Halloween spirit in other ways and Hocus Pocus is always a good idea. Was I the only one who wanted stairs in my bedroom like the main character Max? How cool would that be? The Dennison house was pretty awesome.

3. RH Baby & Child

In a dream world, my entire apartment and future house would have Restoration Hardware furniture/decor. But let’s be serious, that stuff is EXPENSIVE. I was recently browsing around the Baby & Child section of RH and determined that {to no surprise} they have the cutest baby gear. I’m not registered there, but I plan on buying our little lady a few things including this luxe pink striped stroller blanket, Jellycat lamb, and hooded towel. I could legit spend hours just browsing around. They have a ton of great holiday gifts for baby so if you have a little one, I highly recommend checking out the RH Baby & Child website this weekend {not sponsored – just obsessed!}.

4. Our Tiny Tribe

I’m a big Youtube user and I’m constantly finding new channels to subscribe to and watch. A lot of the videos I’ve been watching lately are pregnancy related, which I find really helpful. It’s nice to hear how other women are dealing with the craziness of pregnancy. Specifically, I love the vlog channel called Our Tiny Tribe. It’s run by a couple from England who are pregnant with their first baby. They post bump updates, maternity favorites, and behind the scenes of their everyday experiences. If vlogs are your thing, you should definitely check them out!

// Alright, time to get this Friday under way. My to-do list is full again, but I’ve been in the mood to be really productive so I’m going with it. Make sure you follow along on InstaStories this weekend. I’m heading back to my college alma mater for homecoming during the day on Saturday and then out to a concert Saturday night. I’ll also be picking curtains {FINALLY} for the nursery and cleaning out the closets, marathoning Stranger Things season 2, and taking some naps. What do you guys have planned?!
