Friday Favorites

May 30, 2014

Is any one else super excited that it’s finally Friday again?  Yes, this week was short because of the holiday, but I was exhausted this week.  I had every intention to get a lot of things completed after work, but honestly nothing got done.  I’m serious.  Much of my time after work was spent laying on the couch watching TV and browsing through Pinterest and the Pottery Barn website.  That just means I’ll need to dedicate some time during the mornings this weekend to do those things I didn’t do.  No worries.

Since it’s the end of the work week, it’s time for my Friday Favorites!  I’m hoping to get some posts scheduled for next week, so please comment below and let me know what types of posts you’d be interested in reading.

FAVORITE PRODUCT

My favorite product this week is my new iPhone case.  The wonderful people at giddy paperie were kind enough to send me an iPhone case to review here on simply Nicole.  giddy paperie is a stationery and paper goods shop that also sells fun small gifts, like phone covers and towels.  I chose the “Poppy” iPhone 5S case and am so happy that I did.  The flowers are such a fun, summery design and definitely add color to my otherwise plain looking iPhone.  Plus the case makes mirror selfies so much more fun Smile.

Details about the case: The case is a 3-part extremely durable bezel, that protects the screen from direct contact with hard surfaces.  The case is super lightweight and isn’t bulky at all (which is a huge selling point for me).

FAVORITE ACTIVITIES

As I mentioned above, this week was pretty uneventful so I don’t have too many favorite activities this week.  When I said that I sat on my couch a lot, I wasn’t lying.  The photos below are the most exciting things I did all week.

Relaxing on the in-laws’ deck on Memorial Day.  Memorial Day was pretty nice.  After heading to our complex pool and it being crowded, we drove down to Bryan’s parents’ house instead.  The weather was absolutely perfect for the pool.  After a bit of time in the pool, I relaxed on the deck, read some magazines, surfed through and Instagram and eventually ate dinner outside.

Starting our wedding thank you cards, browsing through Pinterest, and eating my favorite canned soup (Campbell’s Vegetarian Vegetable).  I wish I could say that I finished my thank you cards this week, but I can’t.  That’s on my agenda for this weekend.  If you need a quick dinner, I highly recommend the Campbell’s Vegetarian Vegetable soup.  Yes, it’s a condensed soup and probably not the healthiest choice for dinner, but I enjoy it every once in a while.  (OK, this week I had two cans of it).

Catching up on some light reading before bed this week was a definite favorite.  I get a lot of magazines delivered every month, so sometimes they just pile up.  I hope to finish this Harper’s Bazaar before another magazine shows up!  Harper’s Bazaar isn’t my favorite read, because it’s a bit too high fashion for me, but I do enjoy reading up on the latest trends.
