Harry Barker Review

Before we picked up Pete, I did a lot of research to find high quality pet products for him. There are a lot of options, but not every brand has products that are high quality, eco-friendly, and well-priced. One day I stumbled upon an Instagram photo that Harry Barker was tagged in. I was intrigued, so I clicked over to their Instagram and website and fell in love.

Ford model, Carol Perkins, founded Harry Barker in 1997 while she was recovering from a life threatening and rare brain tumor. To help through her recovery, Carol turned to her love of dogs and began designing dog beds, toys and robes for her friends’ pets. Soon after, she was taking orders and sewing each product by hand in her NYC loft.

I love Harry Barker products for Pete because the company uses earth friendly fabrics and azo-free dyes, eco-fleece, and “green” bed inserts made from 100% recycled plastics. Harry Barker also supports veterans by donating a portion of the proceeds from their Canines for Veterans Collection. Canines for Veterans rescues shelter dogs and trains them to become service dogs for wounded vets.

Here are some of Pete (and my) favorite Harry Barker products.

Harry Barker Review

Chelsea Collar: Pete’s first collar was getting super dirty and wouldn’t wash clean so I knew it was time for a new collar. The Chelsea collar is lightweight, quick-drying, machine washable and adjustable! The adjustable factor was very important, because Pete’s neck is really tiny and I had a hard time finding a collar that fits. I’ve been calling it his “big boy” collar because it’s much thicker and more sophisticated than his old one 🙂

Bon Chien Eco-Tote Large: I rave about this tote every time I use it. It couldn’t be any better. It has a dachshund on it! The tote is very durable and is woven from jute fibers and recycled plastic bottles. Every time we travel we Pete I use this tote because it fits all his essentials. I’d be lost without this bag – I love it that much! I wish Harry Barker made the tote with other dog breed graphics, because I’d definitely buy one for all my dog owner friends.

White Stainless Steel Bowls Small: When we first brought Pete home, he wouldn’t eat out of his bowls. We were using the travel bowls that came with our travel food container. They were made of plastic so they slid around our kitchen floor when Pete was trying to eat. After a while, Pete would get frustrated and walk away from his bowl. I knew the bowls were the issue, so I gave the white stainless steel bowls from Harry Barker a try. They have a white enamel exterior coating and anti-skid rubber on the bottom. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for new bowls for their pup. They are easy to clean and don’t slide across our kitchen floor. We have the small size, but they also come in medium and large.

Cotton Rope Tug & Toss: One of Pete’s favorite toys is the Harry Barker Tug & Toss. He’s been using it for a few weeks now and it’s very durable. I’ve heard of puppy owners having to replace rope toys pretty frequently, but this one has lasted a while. Pete plays with this every single morning while I’m getting ready. It keeps him occupied and I’m very thankful for that!

We love Harry Barker products! Pete told me he’s adding a bunch of Harry Barker toys to his Christmas wishlist 🙂
