Leg Burning Workout

I finally got back into the gym, after a long hiatus.  I thought to myself, “If I’m going back to the gym, what is my favorite thing to do?”  LEGS OF COURSE!  I love leg days, partially because my legs are already pretty strong.  Thank you years of dance classes.  My arms on the other hand need a lot of work, but I left that for another day.

Leg Burning Workout

In case you’re new to the fitness world, 3×20 etc. means 3 sets, 20 reps in each set. 

I loved this workout because I didn’t have to fuss with various machines.  I tried using the leg extension machine, but I couldn’t adjust it properly to fit my height.  It didn’t matter anyway, because I prefer to use dumbbells and my own body weight anyway.

This workout left me immediately sweaty and really sore for the next two days. (I probably should have stretched afterwards.  Oops).  I think I’m still in pain due to the step ups.  They were much harder than they sound, because the workout bench is approximately two feet off the ground.  It’s not like I was stepping up on a six inch aerobic step box.  That exercise really works your booty and legs!

If you’re looking for a machine-free leg workout definitely give this one a try.

I go the gym (which is in my garage haha)3 days a week. And like you I absolutely love leg day!! You should definitely try out jump squats. I do all my exercises weighted, but jump squats I did non-weighted and they left me sore for 4 days!! Plus they are just fun to do 🙂
