Setting Myself Up For Failure

October 5, 2011

Today I woke up, and it wasn’t dreary outside or raining!  If you live in the Philadelphia area, you know that the weather has been gross lately.  I wasn’t planning on going for a run this morning, but after breakfast decided that it was too gorgeous out to not go; however eating Fruit Loops this morning was a bad choice. My to-do list this morning was extremely long, but I wanted some fresh air.  No, really… check out this to-do list.

  1. La Salle freelancing (1 hour)
  2. Simply Nicole blog post
  3. Prepare invoice for La Salle
  4. Writing articles freelancing (one for a website, two for contract work)
  5. Organize marketing recommendations for another college
  6. Work on Sarah Pinto‘s new Facebook account

My run was not the best this morning, partially because I forgot to stretch before hand, ate sugary crap for breakfast, and haven’t run in over 2 weeks.  I’m just asking for failure sometimes.  I did however put on on my favorite running shorts!

Start: 10:18am
Duration: 27min 15sec
Mileage: 1.81  — Eh.

Last night after Bry got home from work, I was itching to go someplace, so we drove over to this farmers market nearby.  We pulled up and it said:

and then I continued to chant “Pumpkin ice cream is here,” until we walked inside.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get pumpkin ice cream, because they only accepted cash and we only had our debit cards.   But we did spot some gourds!  I don’t know much about these things except that they are interesting to look at.  Do people eat them like pumpkin?
How did you learn to gain endurance when running?
What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?

i totally understand trying to get back into working out after taking a break! just keep in mind a little bit is better than nothing and endurance will come!

I live outside Philly as well, and I agree that the weather has been miserable – until today! 🙂 Pumpkin icecream sounds absolutely delicious. My favorites are cake batter & butter pecan!
