Water Balance Application

You know that one of my goals throughout 2012 was to drink more water.  I tried everything – adding lemons, limes, even cucumbers at one point to try and increase my interest in water.  Well my friends, I’ve found another thing to try: an application for my iPhone called Water Balance.  One of my Instagram friends posted a screenshot of the app and I was intrigued.

I quickly downloaded the app (It’s FREE by the way), and started to play with it.  The one thing that is annoying with the app is that everything is in kg and liters, so I’ll need to use a metric converter to accurately document my water intake.  That’s not too difficult, though.

When you download the app, the first thing you’ll do is enter in your personal data.  You can get to this by clicking on the water droplet in the lower left hand side of the screen and then clicking on the little person icon.  You’ll be asked to enter:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Height (in cm)
  • Weight (in kg)
  • Birthdate

The app is very easy to use.  Any time that you drink fluid, you’ll click on the plus sign button on the lower right and add the type and quantity of the drink.  The app has a good amount of choices to pick from.

You can choose from:

  • Tea
  • Coffee
  • Water
  • Soda
  • Alcohol
  • Milk
  • Juice
  • Other

I’m going to try this out for a few days and I’ll let you know my thoughts next week.  I’m hoping to use this every day and really be meticulous about my water intake.

Talk to Me

  • Do you track your water intake?  If so, how?
  • How do you get yourself to drink more water?
  • How much water do you drink per day?

I don’t track my water but I’m sure I don’t drink enough! I do my best though! Working on my H20!

i’m terrible with water – i know i dont drink enough!

I’m interested to hear what you think about this app! I’m always looking for ways to up my water in-take and this seems like it might be helpful!

I’m looking forward to trying it because I neeeed to get more water into my system. It seems helpful, but i’ll let you know my thoughts next week

I’ve tried this app and gave up with it because of my lack of knowledge of the metric system!

LOL i can see that happening with me as well – but I’ll try it for a week and do a full analysis lol

can’t wait to hear what you have to say about this app!

I’m interested in using it because I wonder if it will get annoying with the metric system. – but i’ll let you know 🙂

Interesting! You might want to check out the Waterlogged App (also has a free version). You can enter in ounces. And, you can take a picture of your own water bottle/glasses — a fun feature. I found thatlogging my water really helps – if I do it!

Oh cool! I’ll have to try that one too. Thanks!
