Weekend Recap (12/14- 12/16)

I can’t start this post without mentioning the Newtown Connecticut tragedy that occurred on Friday.  The news this morning said that the first funerals will be today.  I can not imagine the pain that those families are going through, but I can offer my deepest condolences and prayers.

Friday

I told you last week that Friday was my birthday and I took off from work for the day.  I had a short workout at the gym, because these headaches I’ve been having lately are so debilitating.  It hurt my head so much to run.  I actually had to hop off the treadmill because my vision went blurry.  Instead of heading home and being mad, I did a short 20 minute workout.

After my workout I drove over to Target to exchange something and stopped at Charming Charlie.  I finally used the gift card that my friends from my old job gave me.  I was waiting for the perfect necklace and I finally found it!  It’s a knock off of the popular J. Crew bauble necklace, but I love it and it was a fraction of the price!

I didn’t have too much time to shop in the morning, because I had a massage scheduled for noon.  The massage definitely made my day that much more relaxing.

Once the massage was over I came home, took a brief nap until Bryan came home and then went out shopping for a birthday dress.  Yes, I waiting until the last possible minute to buy a dress.  I ended up with a really pretty versatile dress from Express.

I had close friends by my side as we enjoyed dinner at Seasons 52 (one of my favorite restaurants).  The group of us went there last year for my birthday so I knew it would be amazing.  Our waitress was so nice – she randomly took our photo and then gave me the photo in a Seasons 52 frame as a keepsake.

My friends surprised me with alcohol, a photo frame and wedding magazines!  If any of you are reading this post – thank you so much for enjoying this day with me.

Saturday

On Saturday, I took time in the afternoon to go shopping again.  I needed to find an ugly sweater for a party that night.  Yet again I waited until the last minute possible.  Of course I couldn’t find anything, so Bryan and I made our own.

The party was great!  There was so much food, friends, games, and holiday music.  The perfect recipe for a holiday party.

Sunday

On Sunday Bryan and I went to his parents house in the morning.  We lounged around on the couch for the majority of the day, but then had a great dinner and decorated his parent’s Christmas tree.  It was the best way to spend a lazy, rainy Sunday.

Ugh, I’ve been there with the horrible headaches! My sister-in-law used to get horrible headaches and she SWEARS by her chiropractor; I’ve thought about looking into it myself.

Glad you had a good weekend! 🙂

Yeah the headaches need to stop. they really suck. i think it’s stress.

Great workout!

And putting holiday bows on a sweater is mandatory in all households.

Haha, it was a last minute resort! But I think it worked 🙂

How sweet of your friends to surprise you with booze and wedding magazines! It looks like you had a wonderful birthday weekend! I hope your headaches get better soon! I’ve been having digestive issues and it sucks when youre trying to enjoy the holidays and the fun of being engaged!

It was so nice! I can’t wait to continue wedding planning! Ugh digestive problems are the worst! I was on medication for a while to help with that. it was terrible

We put up the Xmas tree….I love doing that 🙂
Spent some time with the Family, that was special!

Yay xmas trees! We actually just bought our first ornament together – that will be up on the blog this week.

I love that Bryan’s mug made a cameo in your sweater picture 🙂

looks like you had a great birthday weekend! wine and wedding magazines= perfect gifts!

I’m a huge fan of wedding magazines. as much as i love pinterest, theres something about cutting out paper versions.
