weekend recap (2/22- 2/23)

This weekend was super fun.  I was able to get so many items on my to-do list completed.  Let’s just take a look at what I did this weekend.

My Saturday started with an 8AM appointment at the Honda dealership to get my car’s oil changed.  I’m so happy that my Civic has alerts when it needs things done to it.  Otherwise I have no idea how I’d ever know.  I am the worst when it comes to my car.

The appointment didn’t last too long, but I was able to catch up on the news.  I feel like I’ve only watched a handful of Olympic events so I’m glad I was able to at least read about all of the drama.

After the car was done my sister, Bryan’s sister, and I took the train up to New York City!  I had my first wedding dress fitting at Pronovias and I think I was more nervous about the fitting than finding the dress.  Luckily, the dress was still as perfect as the first time I found it.  But this time, it fit a bit better.

That’s the only picture I snapped while in NYC, aside from pictures of me in my dress of course.  Every time I’ve been in NYC recently, I’ve been there and back so quickly that I don’t have time to really explore or do anything else.  It’s usually – take the train into NYC, take a cab to Pronovias, spend a few hours at Pronovias, take a cab back to Penn Station, take a train back to Trenton.  It happens so quickly, I forget that I was even in NYC sometimes!

On Saturday night after coming home from NYC, we went out for Mexican food and margaritas.  It was such a great way to end a busy Saturday.

On Sunday, we were able to sleep in (finally!).  After breakfast, we caught up on Jimmy Fallon episodes and then drove over to the mall to pick up our wedding rings.

The rings are even more amazing than I remembered.  I can’t wait until I’m officially allowed to wear it.  For now, Bryan is going to have to hide it from me so I don’t try it on each and every day.

After the mall, we went over to the 9/11 memorial in King of Prussia.  It’s super interesting, because unless you were looking for it, there is no way you would ever notice that it was there.  If you’re from this area, it is sort of behind The Cheesecake Factory in the Court.  It’s right across the street from The Melting Pot.

There were actually pieces of the World Trade Center at the memorial.  Who knew that such an important piece of history was so close to home?!  If you’re in the King of Prussia area, I highly recommend going to the memorial.

After we left there, we decided to drive over to Trader Joe’s and get some food for the week.  I haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in months so I was so excited to get all my favorite items!  I’ll be doing a “What’s in my Grocery Bag” post tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that.

The weather was perfect on Sunday.  I was so excited to finally be able to NOT wear a winter coat and boots.  I was even able to drive with the windows down!  Of course Mother Nature hates us, so there is snow in the forecast for the middle of this week.

After such a long day, we came home and made some dinner, did our taxes, and I got some more wedding to-dos completed.  I love productive weekends!

I was also able to catch up on some much needed magazine reading.  I went to pick up the mail this weekend and these huge magazines were sitting in the mailbox.  They are HUGE!

Love the “Because Mother Nature hates” hahaha. It was great weather this weekend for us over here on the west coast too!! I’m disappointed it’ll be coming to an end later this week. Yay for getting so much done!! Love weekends like that. I just spent my weekend studying anatomy/making flash cards. So I wasn’t able to enjoy the weather too much, but the little that I did, was so nice 🙂 Have a great Monday 🙂

What a fun weekend! I was just in the Honda service center too! haha I was getting my oil changed. I’m jealous that yours had the USA Today to read. Mine just had a TV with Jeopardy on.

AHH MOTHER NATURE.
