Weekend Recap (6/28- 6/29)

June 30, 2014

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I sure did! It was jam packed with friends, family, fun and a bit of relaxation. It was exactly how I like my weekends. This week is a short one because I get out of work early on Thursday and I’m off on Friday for the fourth. I’m sure although the week is shorter than normal, I’ll still be super busy. Enjoy your week!

On Saturday, I had to drive out to our Dentist for an emergency visit. I mentioned in Friday’s post that I chipped the bonding on my front tooth this week. Luckily, the dentist didn’t have to re-bond the tooth, because the chip was so minor. He just took his buffing tool and fixed the chip. I was relieved!

Later that night, we headed to The Script and One Republic concert with our friends Lauren and Mike. Before the show, we stopped at a restaurant in Old City Philadelphia called 4 Fathers. 4 Fathers is a small pub/restaurant and has a lot of character. When you order water, it comes in plastic cups! Of course the restaurant isn’t an upscale 5-star place, but the food was really delicious! I ordered a white sangria and a crab cake sandwich and couldn’t even finish it all. There was probably a pound of crab meat on there! Next time we’re in the city with friends we will definitely be recommending that place.

After dinner, we eventually made our way over to Camden, NJ for the concert at the Susquehanna Bank Center. It was probably one of the best concerts I’d ever attended. I’ve seen The Script in the past, but it was at a much smaller venue. I prefer to see bands in smaller venues, but I was surprised at how great this show was. I almost forgot that we weren’t that close to the musicians. The whole ambiance was amazing.

The Susquehanna Bank Center is half indoors and half outdoors. We were outside on the lawn, which is usually a pain because you have drunk people running into you the whole time. This crowd, however, was awesome. Everyone was just enjoying themselves and no one (that we saw) was getting out of hand. I’ve been to concerts at this venue in the past and sometimes people have to be escorted out of there. It can get crazy. The bands were awesome. The Script is one of my favorite bands, so I was thrilled to see them again. I was really surprised at how amazing One Republic was. I never thought much of them, because I typically just know them for their catchy radio singles. If you’ve ever seen One Republic live, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I never knew the lead singer was that talented! His voice is really good. My friend Lauren and I were jumping up and down and dancing the entire time. It was definitely a highlight of my summer.

I spent Sunday at the in-laws’ house. Bryan and I floated around the pool for a little while until our friends Andrew and Becki  from Atlanta came by the house. They were up in our area for a wedding so they stopped by for an hour or so. The rest of the day was spent sitting on the deck, drinking beers and eating dinner. I love relaxing on Sundays. It’s the best way to end the weekend.

The last concert I attended was Taylor Swift last summer! HAHA What can I say? I am a teenager trapped in a 28 year old’s body apparently!

I absolutely love One Republic! They are my favorite band out there at the moment. So jealous you got to see them live : )

I’ve never thought about seeing One Republic before, but now I’m thinking about it! And Sunday would have been the perfect day by the pool, it was so hot here yesterday! Have a great Monday!
