33 Week Bump Date

December 27, 2017

Hi hi! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday! It was a pretty relaxing weekend for me, but I’m still tired and am definitely struggling a bit this week. I think it’s all the excitement of Christmas that gets me exhausted – no matter what I’m doing. Since the holiday season comes and goes so quickly, I’m always a bit sad when it’s all over. This month in particular FLEW by. I can’t believe it’s almost January!

You may have noticed that I’ve been keeping it low-key on the blog this month. This is mostly due to the fact that this 3rd trimester hasn’t been the easiest on me and I physically and mentally am having issues generating new content for you guys. It’s alright though, because everyone needs a break every once in a while. You’ll forgive me, right?! I keep a post card on my desk at work that says, “Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not obsess… just breathe.” I like it look at it anytime I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, and it helps keep me grounded and clearheaded. This past month of relaxation has really re-energized me and has gotten me excited to grab 2018 by the horns! I’m looking forward to reflecting, strategizing, setting goals and getting organized.

In the meantime, let’s hop into this week’s bump date. It’s week 33, which means there’s less than 50 days to go!

33 WEEK BUMP DATE

Baby is the Size of a: Honeydew{approx. 18.5 inches long, 4 pounds}

Gender: Little girl

Names: Keeping it a secret until she’s here.

How I’m Feeling: The cold that I had last week is finally on it’s way out and I’m feeling significantly better on that front. However, the contractions are back and hurt more than ever. They come and go so I’m not too worried about them at this point, but boy are they painful. They were so bad on Christmas Eve that I started keeping track of them and they ended up being about 3 minutes apart for an entire hour. We were on our way to a party, so I couldn’t keep track once we arrived, but they definitely continued through the night and into Christmas Day. No fun at all. I have another doctor’s appointment this week, so I’m going to bring it up again to my nurse and see if she thinks it’s concerning at this point.

Recent Purchases: I’m not sure if I mentioned this in a previous post, but my MIL and SIL recently bought me the 30oz Yeti Rambler {in sea foam green} for my birthday and it’s my new favorite thing. I love that it’s massive, so I don’t have to refill it as much as my other water bottles. Plus it keeps my drinks ice cold for HOURS. Yes, Yetis are much more expensive than your average water bottle, but I think they are 100% worth the investment. Other things I’ve purchased recently include the Hatch Baby Rest Night Light and Sound Machine, Medela Pump and Save Freezer Bags, and Medela Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags.

Cravings: Similar to last week, I haven’t had too much of an appetite because I’ve been feeling crappy. I think most of my pregnancy “cravings” are gone at this point. There’s nothing that I have to have right away. I’m just trying to eat well and drink lots of fluids. My favorite drink is still lemonade, but I’ve been cutting it with half water, so I can drink more of it but without all the added sugar.

Aversions: None.

Best Moment this Week: Hanging the art in the nursery! It’s been on my to-do list for months now and I’m so excited to finally finish it.

Sleeping: Sleeping has been fine. Nothing to really note in that department. I know that my sleep will be limited once baby gets here, so I’m trying to nap when I can. My weekends have definitely been much more low-key and I’m okay with that.

Rings: Wearing my wedding band only.

Baby Movement: Baby girl is still moving around like crazy. She loves when I rock back and forth on the glider or when I’m in the car.

Labor Signs: I don’t think the Braxton Hicks are doing much to start actual labor, but it feels like baby is pushing down a lot more lately.

Looking Forward to: meeting our little one! As the weeks go by and tasks are getting crossed off my list, there’s not much left to do but to wait. I’ve heard from numerous people that the end of pregnancy seems to take forever so I’m going to do my best to soak it all in and try to be patient.
