34 Week Bump Date

January 3, 2018

Hi hi! Another week is here which means it’s time for my weekly bump date post. I can’t believe I’m 34 weeks now and we have 6 more to go! The holidays really made November and December fly by, so I’m hoping these last weeks move quickly as well. I did my best to relax during Christmas and New Year and get in as many naps as possible. Overall, I think I achieved that goal. Bryan and I didn’t do a lot of festive things or go to many places this year, and that’s okay. I wasn’t really feeling up for it and I needed to really listen to my body.

I think that’s enough rambling for now. Let’s hop into this week’s update.

34 WEEK BUMP DATE

Baby is the Size of a: Cabbage {approx. 18.5 inches long, 4.5 pounds}

Gender: Little lady

Names: Keeping it a secret until she’s here.

How I’m Feeling: I’ve gone almost an entire week without any consistent contractions, so I’ll call that a win for now. Of course, I still get a few every day, but nothing too terrible. My doctor will start checking my cervix at my next appointment, so as long as I’m not super dilated, I should be fine. Other than that, I’m just really tired and can’t wait to meet our little one. Moving around has become a chore. Every time I get out of bed or up from my chair, I need to take a deep breath and gain some momentum. I’ve been told by a few people that I’m carrying low and that all the weight is in my belly, which is wonderful, but it makes moving around a struggle at times. I’m just trying not to topple forward!

Recent Purchases: I didn’t buy a lot this week, in comparison to other weeks, however we received a lot of toys and clothes from my family for Christmas. Baby girl is so spoiled already! I was getting overwhelmed with the clutter in the nursery, so I purchased a toy chest from PB Kids, and two wire bins to put on our bookshelf that will hold stuffed animals and swaddling blankets. There’s a few other items I need to purchase before baby arrives, including a white cap to match her coming home onesie, more button down pjs for me, and a few nursing tanks {a lot of people seem to love the ones from Gap}. Otherwise, I think I’ll just Amazon Prime items as we need them once baby is here.

Cravings: Any type of juice or tea mixed with water in my Yeti. I’m pretty much obsessed with it. When I’m at home, it rarely leaves my side. I carry it around the apartment with me so I make sure I’m constantly staying hydrated. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this on the blog before, but if you don’t own a Yeti Rambler I highly recommend it. It keeps your drink super cold! I have the 30 oz version and love that I don’t have to refill it as often as some of my smaller bottles.

Aversions: None.

Best Moment this Week: We visited my side of the family to celebrate a late Christmas this past weekend. As we were exchanging presents, my dad looked visibly frustrated. Eventually I asked him what was wrong and he showed me this watch that he paid to have fixed but still wasn’t working properly. It was a Disney watch that my mom had when she was a small child. He held on to it for years and planned to give it to me so I’d have it for my own child. I told him that there was no rush in getting it fixed, but that I was so excited to have it one day. It was such a nice gesture and definitely was one of the best baby-related moments this past week.

Sleeping: As I mentioned above, I’ve been trying to get all the sleep that I can. I nap at least a few times during the weekends and get in bed during the work week around 9pm. Bryan downloaded a white noise app, which has been helping us sleep more soundly. Our dog sleeps better too with it on, because he can’t hear the random noises outside that would typically wake him up. We bought the Hatch Baby Rest sound machine and nightlight that we plan to use when baby arrives. I keep forgetting that we have it because I have it in the nursery for now.

Rings: I’m swelling up quite a bit towards the end of the day, but I’m still able to wear my wedding band. All of my rings are starting to feel a bit tighter.

Baby Movement: She’s still moving around a bunch. Last night, it was like she was doing flips or kicks because Bryan and I could see my stomach moving like crazy!

Labor Signs: None yet.

Looking Forward to: getting a few last things in order before baby’s arrival. There’s not much left to do, but once everything is checked off my to-do list, I will feel much better.
