Weekend recap (7/17- 7/19)

August 20, 2012

This weekend was rather relaxing.  On Friday, I came home from work and slept.  I couldn’t even make it to the gym.  I got home, put on comfy clothes, grabbed my fleece blanket and took a nap in bed for over an hour.  I live a crazy life, I know.

On Saturday, we spent our morning catching up on TV shows and eventually made our way to visit Bry’s sister and parents.  We drank a lot of frozen margaritas and frozen spiked pink lemonades, had a BBQ dinner on the deck and chatted until it got dark.  Bry’s parent’s gave us a bookshelf that they didn’t want anymore for the awkward empty space in our living room.

Because we had nothing to put on the bookshelf, on Sunday morning Bry and I drove to IKEA to pick up some affordable décor items.  Once the entire thing is completed, I’ll have to show you!  We also finally bought a mirror to place above our fireplace!  We’ve been looking at a huge blank white wall since January, so I am thrilled to finally have something there.

This is the mirror that we purchased:

Ikea Songe Mirror

IKEA “Songe” Mirror

The shelving unit that we happily inherited:

Pier 1 shelving unit

Pier 1 Fretted Tall Folding Shelf

I’ll have to take some photos of our living room after everything is ready to go.  I’m sure it will be ever changing, because I like to decorate with the seasons, but at least you’ll get a better idea of what my place looks like!

Now that it is Monday, I’m ready to really get some of those goals from the beginning of the month accomplished!  Have a good Monday, readers!

My husband and I desperately need a shelving unit/bigger furniture for our living room! Moving from an apartment into a house, we definitely have much more space so our current furniture looks miniature and kind of silly. We’re trying to wait and save up though so we can get stuff we really want and will like for a long time, rather than just something we can quickly throw in to fill up space.

I really like that shelving unit!

Your nap sounds divine!! There is nothing better than curling up in fleece on the Friday afternoon of an exhausting week!

Ohh I LOVE the shelving unit!!

And those nights for sweats and fleece are the best 🙂

I love IKEA.

It’s the assembly which kills me 🙂
